These months have gone real quick :O Uh Im trying to remember what I did no I think I got on with my Budget and then I got distracted and did this.

I think I did those I can't really remember now actually whilst Im at It did I ever show you this comic sample I did for this current project I want to throw it in although It depends what the Tutors think!

Apparently Ciabatta bread makes you gassy :I yeah I dont know how that works either what happened on Tuesday.

From what I can recall uh I did do some work But I also went to Deepdale retail park with mother to buy some shoes the ones I have are not suitable for this kind of weather we've been having recently. Also I had a attack of depression.

Oh yeah I can Get depressed like everyone else kinda like that Bird stalker guy "Bill Oddie" hes still Depressed right?!

Oh if only it was the 24th of December sniffs not long now I guess. From what I remember I worked on a Script for the Futures project and a front cover for the book which Im going to Print out at Some point I think the second of December or maybe the 5th who knows!

Bet you cant spot the difference between these guys huh!?

Asides form having a Hangover from the previous night I did the Correct thing and got on My budget which Id like to eventually put together at some point whenever that might be.

I think Im starting to get the Christmas feeling which is good I suppose Im looking forward to Christmas Which reminds me J my brother wanted to know what I wanted for Christmas Ill let him no as soon as I think of something.

Today Im going to work abit more on the Budget with as little help from My dad (thanks dad!)

Id like to go on a Road trip like this one day with my mates the only thing is I have two friends that know how to drive but don't do It as often If that makes sense right Im going to go now.

Something else I should have done ages ago (face palm!) Is to show that Ive understood Existing markets for today. oh if any ones wondering this is Part of the Futures project. 

My Series Idea "Monsterology" is mainly aimed at Boys aged 8 to 12 but there is some mature references in it which only adults can understand there also some strong female characters in it so that way the Show isn't a complete "Sausage-fest".

Now abit of a History lesson (Uh oh!) Back in the day (lets say the 80s) Male protagonist of cartoon shows were grown up men A good example of these are

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Gi-Joe, the Real Ghost busters and Bananaman (Id love a Bananaman Costume :D)

Although technical speaking Bananaman was just Eric the School boy transformed into a Super strong clumsy superhero. 

Anyway the reason I think the main characters in cartoons were grown ups was because I think kids could look up to them and Say "I want to fight along side GI-Joe and fight the Cobra terrorist group!" or "Im gonna stay late up and catch Ghosts!" and oh who am I kidding these cartoons never taught you any thing important they were just there to try get kids to pester there parent to buy toys that these cartoons were advertising. 

Thats what's become of animation now asides from showing us new story's and taking us to colourful world with the use of "ground breaking" CGI technology. Theses cartoons were (and still are) just Half an hour adverts full of story arks and colourful characters sigh!   

However It wasn't until the 90s and 00s when The Idea of adult characters for cartoons sort of faded out and were replaced with younger characters which kids could relate to. Kind of like what BBC news does with there Female News presenters.

 

Ah now see Fiona Bruce shes my favourite News reporter person. 

Oh back to younger characters I think the reason for this is that kids can look at these characters and relate to them and look up to them like there an older brother or Sister. Although for me I find it very hard to relate to a Ten year old boy with an alien Watch which allows him the ability to turn into a Variety of different Alien Species each with there own individual powers, personality and Wahey! 

  

I also find it very hard to relate to a bunch of wide eyed kids with Vibrant clothing and Gravity defiant hair do's like the ones in "My generations" Digimon!

 

And dont get me started with this Dweeb! (Look bellow!)

 

I mean COME ON!!! What Hair product did Yugi Have to put into his hair to achieve that style! And now Ive got the Yugi-bear parody in my head I might as well show you that whilst Im at It!

   

So there you have It a Blog entry which shows a Some what bizzare understanding of the Existing markets for the Kids of today but I haven't done it in an appropriate manor oh well :(           

That Blog about Office Space.......

This following blog is about office Space (WOOHOO! yeah alright tom Calm down!). Round about last week I had a look at Office space for my Virtual studio Im at the Moment Im looking at Local places Like this building/office in Moor park.

This is the Back of the Office uhh does look quite spacious 

 I Used to go past this Park on the Way to College "Sigh" I miss College Ill have to pay the building a visit one day. 

  Finally this is front of the Building I think the office for Sale is on the Right and It costs round about £2,292 to rent out Ok Moving on!

This building is at the Docks at Preston I used to run past here now and again when I was 6 :) alright enough nostalgia heres the Interior of this Office.

 I imagine this bit will be a shared office space for the Executive Producer, director and the Art director and maybe some of the Animators.

I dont know who Im going to  put in here maybe some more Animators but I need some receptionists where are they going to go?! I think in the Room on the left I could put a render farm in there.

Finally heres the parking space bah I hate parking spaces >:( this place costs about hang on im talking to some one on Facebook.......£1,208 thats relatively cheap.

This next place is in Bamber bridge which is not far to were I live according to the description on the site "Ribble House is ideally located within walking distance of Bamber Bridge town centre yet only minutes away from Preston City Centre and the motorway network (M6) which connects with the M61/M65 and M55. Bamber Bridge offers a range of shopping and leisure facilities including Sainsbury's, Boots and local amenities." huh!

Hey hey I completed my Animatic today and It was 3 minutes! Showed it my tutor Jud he liked It just one small problem he Said (Eeeee I thought) The voices seemed to Rushed so I need to get some Professionals in at some point. But on a lighter note I had done my Animatic :D

Returned to Uni I just go on with work...Also my Aunt decided to pay us a Visit that way Fun Also I coloured in these guys! 

Quite like the Moustached lady and The Thor look-a-like! Im defiantly gonna add these to my Book for the Futures project.

I did these Title cards I also took my Aunt for a Walk to the Shops (shes not farmilliar with Preston you know!).

I was going to start colouring in this comic for the Futures Project but I ended up in Fleetport!? Freeport! where ever it was it was Horrible! 

But I did get some Chinos and I think a belt I have the Pleasure Of thanking my Aunty Angela for paying for those (Thanks! for that).

Updated this Blog also My aunt leaves today :'( oh well It was nice having her and all that. I really need to get on with that Comic though as soon As I do that Ill be able to concentrate on other things.

Budget related Blog (Zzzzzz)

Now for the Bit I hate and that Is the Budget for the futures project! Good god spread sheets are boring there like the one person at a Party which everyone around you just seems to like except for you because you know this person is actually a big tw*t. So far for the Budget Ive made a Spread sheet which like most of the things I make looks a bit anaemic and needs  filling out abit more.

Ive been given an unlimited budget for this part of the Project but when given that sort of "power" (if you will) my brain seems to go blank and I seem to lack any Imagination (which isn't really true I think of Fun and some what Inventive Ideas but non of them seem to be very realistic) and when told "I can have everything" I cant think of anything! 


Sigh ill never really understand myself Ive been "cursed" with mental illnesses by a god I don't understand. Back to the spreadsheet Really what I need to do  now is find some actual prices and shopping Sites and then Fill in the gaps once the this budget is over I can concentrate on more design work for the Futures and get it handed in.


Another thing I need to find is an Office/Studio space for my crew of 24 (say what!) people...... 

• Executive producer (He Runs the Ship!)
• Managing directors (goes to meetings to promote shit)
• the Producer (Control the staff, wages and animators)
• Production staff x2 (one is an accountant the other is responsible for human resources)
• The Illustrator (Does the storyboard and looks over the drawings)
• Art director (over sees the animation) 
• Art directors little bitch assistant (follows the art director around and agrees to his/her every whim)
• Free lancers (they come in for 2 months to work and then are kicked out)
• Studio Manager (looks after the Studio, Janitor if you will)
• The Animators (10 episode series = 5 animators)  
• Sound artist (optional makes sounds for your cartoon)
• Oh yeah and the voice actors depends how many you'll need in my case 8!      

So yeah quite alot of things are needed hmm I should have really started this ages ago. The tutors told me to have a look at the Anthony Hill Partnership on the interwebs.

 Its an estate agent based around Southport which isn't that far to were I live (well it is and It isn't its still an hour drive to get there and back!).

 All the places for sale look reasonable nice however Im looking for an office not a Shop! However whilst looking for offices the site gave me this message.

Bother! I thought to my self. Oh well Im sure Ill figure something out........ Hit It Tom Robinson Band!

I was going to work on the Budget for me Futures project but I felt lost so I ended up colouring in some of the Title card which I mentioned earlier Ill show you One of Five that Ive coloured In.

I really like how the Flames turned out in the Background for this Title Card!

Other than Updating this Blog Im going to Try and attempt the Budget for the series and try and get It out the Way! like I do with most blog updates Ill leave you with some Videos and Music that I have come across this past week. First up is the song "Trahison" from French electro band "Vitalic" I like this song Ive heard it in TV programs and documentaries I just didn't know what the Song was called at the time.

  

The next video had Inspired me to go on and chase my goal of becoming a Graphic artist/ Comic drawer guy bleagh! Its a trailer for Nick Edwards first Graphic novel Dinopopolous! check it out Its way awesome!

 

Merchandise!

For the futures project as well as doing some Episodes Ideas and creating characters we also need to do Merchandise Ideas! Now Ill be frank Im not really keen on the Idea of "Merchandise" sure Its a way for a Series to make Money but really Its just another form of selling out!.......But who cares what I want right! 

One form of Mechanising I like is "Robots" although nobody in my class cares about what I like (sorry Im not felling myself today) so I thought About doing the Monsterology gang as Robots (if that makes any sense!).

and here is the Original ink drawing which I thought I might throw in because Its like research or some Sh*t like that (Tom you cant say that on this blog! yeah I just did).

The Idea for "Metal monsters" came from not only my love of Robots but also this (look below!) This is the KISS Demon robot designed by "Funko toys" here is a Link to there Site http://www.funko.com/ Its a pretty fun site come to think of It go check it out

Another Inspiration for these robots comes from the original Generation-1 Transformers packaging (although thinking about It now the Tutors of animation dont really care about what your inspired by......or do they after all I dont know them That well I dont think Ill get the chance too either I intend to Graduate next year).

A WHAT UP HONEY LOOPS! During the 80s and 90s There were alot of Cereals with characters from films and TV programs slapped on the Box. Shit like the Star wars cereal "C3 P0's"

May the force be with you too you Golden Mutha f*cker! now Heres an advert for the E.T. Cereal hmmm.... 

Oh yeah and there was a Ghost busters cereal too! A WHATCHU GONNA CRUNCH!

There were even cereals with video game characters such as Pac-Man, Donkey Kong and the Unfortunately named "Nintendo entertainment cereal" Oh dear :/

So It would make sense that Id introduce My own cereal "Monsterology Choco-Pops" Chocolate coated Corn Puff cereal which is a part of this Nutritious breakfast which you wont have time to eat because you have to go to work or School! here's a development of the packaging.

I liked what I put on the Last on "Its all Organic!" If you say so! Im currently working on some Figures for the Series as well made out of Wire and Plasticine (Judd thought I said Vaseline hee hee hee yeah I should learn to Speak up more!) Ill put up some Images in a later blog.
